On visit to Southeast Asia’s largest mosque, Pope says battling climate change and religious extremism a common cause
Since his papacy started in 2013, Pope Francis has indicated his intention to develop bridges with various other beliefs. The global development of Islam, and the rise of extremism throughout religious beliefs, also made this an immediate priority.
On Thursday, in the greatest mosque in the world's biggest Muslim-majority country, the pontiff used a joint declaration with Indonesia's Grand Imam Nasaruddin Umar to identify "2 major dilemmas" facing the world: dehumanization and environment change.
"The global sensation of dehumanization is marked particularly by extensive physical violence and dispute, often prominent to a worrying variety of sufferers," said the declaration, authorized in the stretching funding Jakarta.

Francis reached Istiqlal Mosque, the biggest in Southeast Australia or europe, in the early morning, driving previous roads lined with well-wishers in a metropolis that's among the fastest sinking cities on the planet. The mosque is next-door to the city's Catholic basilica, and the pope visited an underpass known as the "passage of relationship" which connects the churches.
